I don't know the real muppet from the fake one here, but yes... the fan service was cranked to 11 while the story was dulled down to 3. Case in point, they finally put Gambit in the movie and it was painfully obvious that they had no idea how to use him. Still, I suppose it was entertaining. I hope to see more Origin movies in the future.

One thing that bothered me was the scene where Wolverine jumped into the water from the helicopter (or over the waterfall for that matter). Seeing as healing does not = super strength, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to include swimming scenes with a guy that has an extra 300lbs of metal grafted to his bones.

Yeah, suspension of disbelief. I'll let that one go. I guess I'll even let go the fact that injecting metal onto bone shaped claws will make them look like a master blacksmith fashioned them into perfect knives.
