I was mistaken about the Tiananmen Square guy. Anyone can see that the death of Gavroche in Les Miserables is much closer and, of course, much funnier.
I am about six achievements short of the 80 I need to platinum Forbidden West. The Hunting Grounds I don't mind, but I refuse to suffer through the melee pits just to get the chance to fight the Enduring. I could win two sessions of Machine Strike, but again I refuse. I have the achievement for winning two gauntlet races, but even though I want the Carja's Bane warrior bow, I refuse to enter another race.
I admire what Guerilla did with these modes, but I won't be held hostage by them. So I will go a bit further in my second playthrough of the Burning Shores, though I may not finish it because I didn't like how fiddly the final boss fight was. I may just go around an collect all the weapons and outfits I don't have -- and then upgrade them. That should go quickly. About as quickly as the Middle Ages.
This may seem like I'm complaining, but you'll notice that I completed 74 out of the 80 achievements because, dang it, I love this game. I consider it one of the G.O.A.T.s among AAA games. Worth every penny and then some.
