To elaborate: I just got to the point where Whitman and Lara get captured by the Russians. Her hands are bound, but she is making her escape, only to be caught by a guy who wants to slobber all over her.
To deliver herself from his groping paws and fetid man breath, she must press F many times fast fast fast in order to bite him and get him to drop his gun. She grabs the gun (I missed the part where her bonds got cut) and must now press . . . NOBODY KNOWS.
There's a retracting circle and she shoots the guy in the crotch, but apparently he has a crotch that is STRONG LIKE BULL because this is a fail and he chokes her. Her mission, should she decide not to uninstall, is to figure out which keys she needs to press and what rhythm the developers had in mind for success.
She does the smart thing and goes to the internet to see the accumulated wisdom of Croftians addressing this very fight. She learns that she must mash the left/right direction keys, then press E at exactly the right time. Then -- AND ONLY THEN -- will she be able to fire the superior Soviet weapon with her laughably imperialistic mouse button.
I get it. See, it's not a fight. It's a mystery. It completely subverts my expectations. Genius.
