Subject: RE: One year anniversary...

It's interesting to me how all the big streamers were so frothed up about SM2, telling everybody that this is the game people needed, that FINALLY this and Wukong were here to rescue the industry, etc. And of course they all turned it up to Veteran and Angel of Death difficulty and started realizing that sometimes parries worked and sometimes they didn't, but whatever acid the termagents were using never missed. And that's when they all started getting those rictus grins and their eyes were saying, "What on earth is this? I have to keep selling this game because I've BEEN selling this game and I don't want to look contradictory, but this thing does not have all the bolts screwed down."

I'm really having a good time with Hogwarts Legacy. The world-building is amazing. It's emphatically the best Harry Potter fan service I have ever seen. It's also huge. The castle is vast, and every room is intricately designed. The quests are mostly child-level difficulty, but the combat sometimes comes close to being a bit challenging, which seems out of whack with how pleasant everything else is.

My only problem so far is that everybody in Slytherin House is NICE. What kind of world do we live in when your Slytherin dormmates don't hate you or other houses? If I'd known they were going to be such decent people I would have tried to get into Hufflepuff. At least they have nice plants and snacks all over the place. I'm starting to get worried.
