guy -- yes, sadly, the Ubisoft model has spread its tentacles even to certain parts of games like Ghost of Tsushima. I love the Horizon games, but I must admit that Forbidden West especially has those buffet elements, which can suspend immersion in ways that Zero Dawn rarely did.
I will contradict myself by adding that I don't really mind most of Ubisoft's repetitious theme park designs, but they always do something that irritates me. I haven't come across it yet in Far Cry 3, but Assassin's Creed Origins and Odyssey wrenched me out of the world with their completely unnecessary naval combat. It was a nice Mongolian barbecue, but they had to throw in chocolate donuts.
