Pete's Wicked Ale is way to malty for my taste buds (or was, back 16 years ago, when I last had it). I suggest anything from Flying Dog, or Stone. Stone's IPA is one of my favourites. Dogfish Head is another highly regarded microbrewery, and Bell's Amber Ale from K'zoo, MI (or as one friend of mine calls it, the "duck beer") is a classic. And their cherry stout.
Then there are the standbys: Sierra Nevada and Sam Adams Pale Ales.
