Certainly people don't have to take insults on the internet, and there may be plenty of places (where?) that have kind and loving communities. But none of the iterations of these forums have been that way pretty much since the original Blood forum stopped being moderated.
I will say this, though: even I had a hard time figuring out whether BF actually hated sim or not. It was fairly common of him to say "god I hate you". Maybe he truly meant it. Who knows? And who really cares.
Unquestionably, he was probably the kindest person (him, and dox) on the forum, and tried to never be offensive. I did find it a bit entertaining when he would say something with no intention of being rude, just to find that even though it wasn't substantial, he still insulted someone. Of course, he would immediately change his tune. I guess you can't say anything without at least pissing someone off. To me, the bigger picture is that he's one of the staples of humor and friendship in the blood forum community. Then again, maybe that's so because he always did remain neutral no matter the squabbles. Maybe it's because of this that he doesn't (want to) deal with adversary, but I still don't understand. I guess to each their own. So long, sim. It was nice knowing you.
