First of all, let's make one thing clear - you don't know shit about cars, the industry, physics, mechanical science, or anything besides maybe mount & blade.
Diesel was more expensive for a little while because of a federal tax that was applied to it. Not because of your completely retarded assumption that it's more expensive because there's less refinement. Uhh, how would that make *any* sense? You're pathetic. It's too bad that you will never amount to anything in life because you're too busy trying to pretend to be smart, in turn making you a troll, instead of actually trying to know something. The really sad thing is that you argue that I search the web for specific info all while you simply make shit up. Again - you're an idiot. So, to go back and prove my point that diesel fuel contains more energy than petrol, here's some specifics I pulled off the web (but since you didn't make it up, it must be wrong):
Diesel fuel has a higher energy density than gasoline. On average, 1 gallon (3.8 L) of diesel fuel contains approximately 155x106 joules (147,000 BTU), while 1 gallon of gasoline contains 132x106 joules (125,000 BTU).
