Subject: RE: How come I never knew that

The problem I found with MOH:A's cover system is that on consoles, you needed to not only fine tune your aim once you were aiming down the sight, but to also hold your stance steady or it would throw off your aim. I found myself missing a lot because I just couldn't hold the left stick steady enough. You could lock your stance by holding down the left thumbstick but as everyone knows, superhuman strength is required to hold down a thumbstick for any period of time. So at this point, I'm holding down LS to lock my stance, while holding the left trigger to scope, while trying to aim with the right stick, while pulling and holding on the right trigger to hold my breath. . . Just not enough to let the shot fly! 4 separate inputs is just unwieldy if you ask me, but great hand exercise I suppose.

On the PC this wasn't a problem anymore as you were either behind cover or peeking out completely, but then you've also lost the ability to stick out of cover just enough to shoot out, but not enough that you completely give yourself away.

The thing about CoJ2's way of doing it, is that it combines both these traits into a single input. One thing you should remember, is that you never need to crouch in order to take horizontal cover as the engine will auto crouch you when you look at the edge and up, the only time you need to crouch is when you want to take vertical cover behind a low height object.

I guess a manual cover key could be added.
