Once again
Norton comes through. I updated my subscription, which went perfectly. Then I told the wife's 2008 version that I had updated. It responded perfectly.
Then I downloaded a trial version to update the wife's version to 2009. It uninstalled 2008, installed 2009, and worked . . .
. . .
. . .
perfectly.
Further proof that there's nothing wrong with Nortons, only people. Go out and get your Nortons today.
