Should have bought a dodge neon....
I decided to replace my ignition coils(4), plug wires(4), and spark plugs(4) on the mazda with all standard OE parts. Now, I understand that it's a fairly low-volume car, and the spark plugs are not shared with any other vehicle, but toddamn, $130 for four plugs?!?! Also, the plug wires were nearly $70 for four measly short wires. Lesson is this: If you don't want to spend porsche part prices on a mazda, but a damn ford taurus.
