According to his mother's site, which I found way back, she said he sued for custody of the girl from her unfit mother, and she claimed that the girl was a basket case problem child who unfairly accused many people of despicable things without grounds or provocation. I think I recall that the girl was his adopted daughter.
Who knows what happened.
