Here's the deal, even if he's innocent, he's still so much of a creep that:
He raised a daughter capable of committing such a fraud, and who hated her own father enough to do it to him.
His ex wife, either believed it (knowing both him and her daughter better than us) or hated him so much she went along with it.
He was convicted by a jury of peers based on the testimony of a deranged girl and physical evidence that made it look like he was fucking his daughter and his general creepy vibe.
c'mon, how great a guy could've he been?
