im on the latest "gold master" of 10.6 blow leopard (3 hour install time from 10.5, by the way), on a core2 duo at 2.3 or 2.6ghz, with 2gb of ram, an intel x1300 gpu and what i assume is a typical 2.5inch 5400 rpm hard disk.
let me tell ya, this thing is not snappy or responsive. its like they purposely jewed it out so u can feel bad for not having enough money to buy their top of the line macbook pro with all the bells and aids n shit. fuck.
dont even bother customizing ANYTHING. your trapped in the fucking macbook with a shitty mouse and its going to take longer than the install time to start breaking free of the god awful framework osx has layed out and start doing shit like populating and configuring the apps you want and changing where you want your data to go.
oh, and you have to PAY TO UNINSTALL APPS!!!!
i wanted to get rid of world of warcraft, when to my surprise i find there is no uninstall manager. how the fuck, after all this time, does apple seriously not incorporate a fucking associated conf remover? thats fucking sloppy. and its a damn dirty slap in that face that the only real solution is an app that costs 12$.
there is a freeware knockoff version of it, but damn. you have to fucking HUNT for it.
all this whole time im wondering how in the FUCK has ANYONE EVER taken osx seriously. and how the fuck have they lasted this long.
