MY Chapter 1 through 10
Chapter 1: got a mac mini c2d 2ghz, 2g, 160gig
Chapter 2: install leopard. play wiht it a little. browse web and discover that i cant highlight things in safari address bar with keystrokes. find out from muppet that its by design. certain applications behave differently with the maximize button. some have a "reccomended size" (safari). so the OS doesnt appear to behave consistantly.
Chapter 3: stopped using it. it is gathering dust. cant find a use.
Chapter 4: pirate some software on it. install office. install VNC. install VMware fusion. the keygens are really cool in osx. the installs for the applications are strange to me. dmg images that mount and boot/install. done with that. back to boredom
Chapter 5: it gathers more dust. I install windows 98 on vmware and install and Play blood. frame rate is OK, but sound is laggy. still it was neat to see it.
Chapter 6: more dust. decide to bring it to work and hide it on a bookshelf. connected to my work monitor with cables i hid behind my whiteboard at my desk. used it to play music/youtube over bluetooth headset. browsing non-work related stuff.
Chapter 7: installed snow leopard when it came out. uneventfull. dont see any changes. maybe a little faster.
Chapter 8: it has gathered dust at work too. i stopped using it cause it was faster to browse non-work stuff in windows and just get it done with. used my winmo phone to play music. the mac is useless at work, too.
Chapter 9: take the mac home and decide to hook it up in the living room to the hdtv. its a 47" lcd, i figure the mac would look cool on there. went through the work of finding a dvi-hdmi adapter, hooked it all up. the screen is overscanned too much. look for the option in many different places. eventually find it and de-select 'overscan'. the screen is now far too small and doenst fit the screen. there is no slider like in windows (ati/nvidia drivers). after looking online, its aparently a limitation of the mac mini/osx. it will probably never be fixed. apple wants you to buy an apple tv if you hook up to a tv. decide to change to a dvi-vga converter.
Chapter 10: havent turned it on in a long time. gathering dust.
preview to chapter 11: thinking about dual booting windows 7 and osx to compare and contrast. may see some use out of it with windows 7.
