i dont get why people are so against a progressive income tax.

well so what? even with a flat percentage the rich have to pay in mre than the poor. how's that fair?
why does a lazy bum get all the benefits living in this country provides and not have to pay for it just because he's too lazy or stupid to make money and pay income tax?
Why not just have a flat fee you pay monthly for living in this country? That's the most fair. everyone gets equal benefits, everyone pays an equal dollar amount. if youre out of the country for a while (like a month long vacation to mexico), your fee gets prorated to take account for the time you were gone.
That's the most fair.
