Of course not. I have to pay taxes on my income even though I'm drowning in debt and I'm not really benefitting fully from being in the tax bracket that I'm in, but that's the price I pay for living in a capitalist country. I'm able to make what I make and live how I live because of the way that our society is structured, and a progressive tax is the membership dues I pay for getting to do it. That's life.
If there weren't minimum wage jerks ringing up my beef jerky at Wal*Mart, my effective wealth level would be far lower. As it is in this country, we've basically been staving off any *real* inflation for about 30 years.
