lol... I feel bad for my dad now....
Necro, you stay out of this, as you don't know what a dad it.
So, my dad calls me up, explaining that he got some antivirus message. I asked if he was on the internet when it popped up, and of course the answer was yes. I told him I couldn't tell him what was going on unless I saw the screen, but I had him read it to me anyways. It quickly became apparent that it was bullshit, and told him to close the window, at which point another pop-up displayed a message in some broken english. I told him to click out of that as well. He told me that earlier he tried clicking on "remove now" and he tried both saving it, and clicking "run now" but it didn't "do anything". Heh. When I told him that he just installed a virus/trojan/hax0rware, then tone in his voice totally changed. He was unknowingly taken advantage of my this evil alternate universe that is known as the internet. I told him he might as well shut it down until I can check it out this weekend.
I can't imagine how many people out there have been suckered into doing the same thing.
