My supar computar has returned
Apparently a loose screw had short circuited the mother board. I got it replaced for free since it may have been during the previous repairs the screw got loose, and got a free graphics card (Geforce 4MX 4000) for waiting so long. I have a different processor now, Athlon XP 2600+ (wow, it's the PLUS!!11! version!! WOW!!!). But I have a problem with the graphics card. To play Doom 3 and other games that use OpenGL I needed other drivers than the ones that came with Windows (I think they did, maybe they didn't, maybe the guy who fixed the computer got them from somewhere else, why would I know?) , which apparently don't support OpenGL (why might that be? ...). I installed the drivers found on Nvidia's web site, but then any resolution over 640*480 and color depth over 4-bit didn't work! Why is that?
