After I was able to train reasonably quickly, I leave my archers at home unless I am taking a castle. I have a 100% cavalry force which does very well. I haven't battled 700, but I have 350 or so. My biggest problem in larger battles is me getting knocked out of the battle: sometimes you need to harrass them so they break formation (rhodocks especially). Khergit lancers have a chance of having a bow, so I line them up in a skirmish line and wait till the last moment to charge, then reform and repeat. Usually 0 casualties, rarely more than 10, and with high surgery, almost always not deaths
