Also, because of morale problems most of my recruits are swadian, since that is the central area of the map. For archers I use about 50% vaegir marksmen, 50% swadian sharpshooters. Khergit lancers are ridiculously quick to train, but IIRC, vaegir and swadian knights are higher level.
