Subject: RE: Did I mention that M&B Warband Day

I think there's a danger of people not understanding what "standalone" means, even though I explained it above in an expert manner.

Let's consider "sit" again. If you sit, you are no longer standing. You are relying on support in the form of a chair or perhaps a rock. Maybe a box. Somewhere in there you stopped relying on your feet.

Now let's think about "recline." This is even farther away from "stand" than "sit." When you think about it, lying down is almost like standing because you're doing it in a straight line, just as you would when you're standing. However -- follow me closely here -- when you stand, you are perpendicular to the plane of the ground. When you recline, you are parallel with it. That's quite a difference.

Does this mean that Warband is a "sitalone" or a "reclinealone"? Of course not. Those words don't even make sense. But I don't think we can call Warband a "standalone."

I think we can settle this whole unfortunate affair by coming up with a new term: "leanalone." I will let you think about that while you decide whether you'll retract your LIBELOUS and DEFAMOUS and BLASPHEMOUS statements.

This is the last post I will make on this topic.
