Looks like this happened back in 2007, with the actual video only being leaked out last Sunday.
I believe what is argued is that what the gunner and pilot thought was an RPG was actually camera equipment.
The most common version of what happened is this: Apparently the pilot and gunner of that helicopter were attempting to track down *another* group of armed men that had been sighted earlier, unfortunately they came upon the reporters' group and their bodyguards who were also armed, confused them with the first guys and opened fire which is what you see in the guncam video.
The sad thing is that fuck ups like this are nothing rare, not just in this particular campaign, but any military undertaking. The only reason this particular case seems to have gained any ground lately was because it was two Reuters reporters that got killed. It's basically guaranteed that you're going to have a fuckup-a-day when you're not fighting a clear enemy.
