Consider it tough love? Fuck you. You've got no idea of my finances, the way I handle them, or what other considerations there have been. We use the XBOX daily, and so I replaced it. It's my prerogative to do so as I earned the money. My kids are fat and happy. They get regular medical care. They live in a good neighborhood with a good school district.
By the way, the new well pump has already been paid for. Seems like I had a handle on things. God forbid I should bitch about the expense.
