RE: PS3 or a media center PC?
Most of the videos I would actually download are from shows/coverage not available (at least up to date) in the US. While that is considered pirating, that would probably be the extent of it. It's cool that the PS3 supports streaming from a media server, but I don't have one. While I'm not big on gaming, it wouldn't hurt. Split screen or turn-based multiplayer games would be particularly suited for having company over. I'm not too worried about hacking it as I don't mind buying games like muppet, the difference being that I can afford them.
I think I might be leaning more towards the HTPC (didn't consider it till today) as I could also use it in place of my well outdated recording PC.
