RE: PS3 or a media center PC?
I haven't firmly decided on processor brand, though i'll probably go for a quad core intel. I haven't really paid any attention to computer hardware for many years now, so I got lots of research to do. Unless things have changed dramatically, I'll probably go with an intel-based chipset if I do go with their cpu for the sake of stability. I'm not necessarily looking for high end hardware, but by no means do I want to go bottom of the barrel. In-box audio processing on a large number of tracks requires quite a bit of horsepower. If it wasn't for that, I'm sure I could get away with lesser hardware. I may go with an SSD for OS/apps, and a ramdrive for audio, while media might be on a NAS, or my old desktop with a bigger hdd.
