blood forum, that IBM model M keyboard with the buckling spring switches is known as a mechanical keyboard.

only 1 company on earth still produces buckling spring keyboards, they are called Unicomp. the keyboard i am typing on right now is an exact (down to hardware) clone of the IBM model M.

its loud as hell, but i can never go back to the standard rubber dome crap again.

also, there are many different type of mechanical switches. i chose buckling spring for the unique and hard to come by feel of it. but you might also want to look into a keyboard with cherry MX blue switches.
